MAGIC FESTIVAL 2013
For the fourth time, magicians, friends and fans of modern magic gathered at the international magic festival MAGIC FESTIVAL 2013. It took place on 17-18 May in the well-known premises of the Culture Club Uherské Hradiště. Organizers Jirka Hadaš, manager Věra Balejová and o.s. Arcanus prepared a truly magical meeting for all participants.
On Friday morning there were educational performances for kindergartens and primary schools. The program featured Jiří Hadaš, magician Šeklin, Jakub Koutský, Michal Nesveda, Jana Hostičková and Aneta Valíčková. A tradition of the Magic Festival is an afternoon promotional event on Masaryk Square called Magic Square. In addition to magic performances, children could also compete in painting pictures, win a small prize in the Cash Box or take advantage of the popular face painting. Once again, we attempted to break the record we set for balloon shaping with our media partner, the Daily News, and the townspeople. That was not beaten this year either.
In the early evening, the first competition block dedicated to micromagic took place. On Friday afternoon, three registered competitors cancelled their participation, so we had to quickly reach out to incoming participants to complete this competition block. There is perhaps some magic in the fact that unsuspecting magicians approached, who did not even have enough time to prepare, ended up winning the first two places.
In Uherské Hradiště, we always try to entertain the Magic Festival participants magically - not magically - at the Friday social gathering. We prepared an evening with the Casino of Fake Players in the premises of the Slovácké wine gallery. The whole evening started with a guided tasting of wines from the Zlomek and Vávra winery, which slowly faded away and the whole gallery was dominated by the fake players Jakub Kroulík, Vláďa Babka and their team of professional croupiers. They brought to Hradiště 4 fun stations, where nobody was bored. The magicians literally enjoyed our casino to the fullest. We would like to thank once again the Casino of Fake Players for their participation and support of the Magic Festival 2014.
Saturday morning started with the II. competition block, in which the category of stage magic up to 18 years old prevailed. The afternoon's Stage Magic III competition block was mixed with competitors in the over 18 category. The expert jury consisting of PhDr. Alexander Gerič, Mgr. Petr Kravčík, Josef Poncza, Jaroslav Hadaš, Tom Gryf and Vláďa Babka consulted the individual performances of the contestants after each competition block.
Wladimir Mikek prepared a new expert seminar for the Magic Festival 2013. The topic of the seminar was salon and table hopping. The second seminar was presented by Tom Gryf, who very quickly and professionally replaced the Austrian magician Bill Cheung. He made a last minute apology and did not attend the Magic Festival.
The culmination of the Magic Festival 2013 was the Magic Gala Show with the announcement of the results. The level of the gala shows in Uherské Hradiště is higher every year. Šaňko Gerič himself publicly thanked Jirko Hadaš and stated that he had no idea where the limits of his possibilities were. During the evening, many awards were given to the successful competitors, singing, dancing and also magic. The gala programme, hosted by Dana Morávková and Jiří Hadaš, also included performances by the pop opera trio La Gioia, the winners of CS has talent - DaeMen, Magic Wladimir, Radek Bakalář, Šeklin, the dance club Trick Hulín, Barmani Zlín. Dana Morávková not only showed her acting talent during the gala evening, but also showed the audience her other skills, in which she has always excelled. With her dance partner Petr Čížek, she danced to the song Lásko prokletá (Cursed Love) and with magician Jirka Hadaš she performed an original illusion called Sawing Illusion. Rightly so, all the performers deserved a standing ovation from the audience at the end.
